Software Engineer
Renal Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care, is leading the advancement of sorbent technology for improved renal replacement therapy. The software engineer will participate in the design, development, launch and maintenance of products by providing engineering expertise and technical support. Support will be focused on, but not limited to, disciplines in the field of software engineering. Requirements for this position include creativity, excellent problem solving ability, high performance in a project team environment and a detailed focus on the technical excellence of designs and engineering solutions.
- Provide engineering support for product designs including but not limited to review and refinement of product requirements, engineering calculations and analysis, component selection, material selection, application of tolerances, knowledge of component fabrication techniques, etc.
- Possess knowledge of the practices of structured design in a medical product development environment, including knowledge of the product development process, documentation practices and drawing standards, design history file content, scientific testing and measurement practices, and record keeping requirements.
- Possess a working knowledge of international and domestic product safety requirements.
- Responsible to keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies related to the dialysis market at large, attending conferences, seminars and trade shows as new information becomes available.
- Establish, schedule and manage activities related to the efforts under their immediate control, and provide feedback to supervisors, teammates and other members of management on a timely basis.
- Supervise less senior members of the engineering staff, including the direct supervision of designers and technicians assigned to them during projects.
- Demonstrate customer focus, cross functional collaboration/teamwork skills and building and leveraging partnership skills.
Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of C/C++, Windriver or other software packages.
- Must have at least 5 years of Microchip & Pentium embedded development experience.
- Familiarity of the latest rapid prototype tools and methods for software development. Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Must be able to work well with peers, subordinates and in a team environment.
